Andy to the second power

Sheryl and I have been best buds since 1st grade. I'm just throwing that out there. I'm just saying...that's a long time. So you would think when the two of us get together with our spouses (who were added to the mix just a few years ago) you'd think it would be us, the girls, the BBITWWSFG who would be obsessed with each other. You'd think it would be the men who would be tagging along so that Erin and Sheryl could catch up. You'd think....

But that's not really how it went at all. See Andy Lynch and Andy Huffman together = Andy to the second power. When they got to Harry Potter at Universal they seriously forgot they even had wives, became obsessed with Potter and each other (and taking pictures of each other.) The proof...

Ok boys, ENOUGH! We know you like each other and Harry Potter and taking pictures of each other. Sheryl and I managed to get in a few pictures!
Here we are enjoying a butter beer, waiting for them to get off some massive roller coaster.

We started making them take pictures of us.

While they rode this...

we did this...took pictures of ourselves pretending to ride scary roller coasters. True to form, when we showed Andy squared what we did, they had to do it too!!!!

Seriously, I am so grateful to the Lord that Andy Lynch has made such an effort to get to know my husband and to love and embrace us just the way Sheryl does. We had a blast with them at Universal and we seriously didn't stop talking the entire time we were there. Can't wait to see them again in January when Sheryl runs her MARATHON!!!!

BBITWWSFG

A few weeks ago my BBITWWSFG came to visit! What a sweet gift from the Lord to be with her and her hubster. We had an awesome time one afternoon just hanging out by the pool at their hotel and talking for four hours straight! It's amazing how God has knit our hearts together over the years. Sheryl makes me want to exercise. I make her want to eat cheeseburgers. She thinks I am funny. She is funny. She is tender and compassionate. She is fun. She's my BEST BUD IN THE WHOLE WORLD SINCE FRIST GRADE! So thankful for such a sweet, long lasting freindship. More on the fun we had in my next post!

Halloween 2010

This is our first year as parents to do the whole Halloween thing. Jack and Emma Grace had never heard of Halloween and we hadn't made a big deal of it. But lots of our neighbors invited us over so we decided to join the fun. Jack was a Chinese Emperor and Emma Grace was a princess.

It was a lot of fun to trick or treat with friends from our complex.

We visited about 5 apartments and got A LOT of candy!
We let the kids eat whatever they wanted. And they did! Above EG is munching on a butterfinger.
Jack decided to unwrap all his candy at once. Once one lollipop was finished he had another one ready for immediate replacement!
Check out Jack's post-trick or treating pre-bath photo! That boy loved the candy!
Trick or treating in an apartment complex was the perfect fit for our family. We didn't have to get in the car-we just walked around for about half an hour, let our kids eat what they wanted and we were back home before dinner time. It was a fun night.

Jack starts school

The Lord really worked it out so that Jack and Emma Grace can both go to school this year! Emma Grace is going three mornings a week and Jack is now joining the fun for two days! He is so social and LOVES school! He looks so cute with his little Thomas the Train backpack! It's a great break for this mommy to have two mornings with no kids and they both are doing really well in school. We don't have high academics hopes for this year-just a fun environment for them to be with other peers. But they are both learning lots! Jack's teacher, Mrs Davis is so precious and kind and I love how happy he is when I pick him up! So thankful for such a great place for our kids. Thanks God for the money to be able to send them!

Our first family pumpkin

Andy and I have carved many together over the years sans kids. This year we were excited to have the kids join in the fun. Except they didn't. Jack lost interest immediately, due to a lollipop offer from a neighbor and EG lost interest when she discovered scooping out the guts was part of the "fun." She had no interest in getting her hands yucky. So Andy, following in the footsteps of his dad, completed the lonely task of cleaning out and carving the pumpkin. Once fire was introduced the interest level went back up! The highlight of the evening was feeding the guts to the massive catfish in the pond. Happy first pumpkin carving for the Huffmans!
