Emma Grace got a new seat! It's called a bumbo! This thing is great. It supports her back and her butt sits lower than her legs so she can't fall out. It's perfect for the stage she is in right now, "frustrated stage." She wants to do so much more than she is able to do and therefore gets really frustrated. For example, she has learned to take her passy out but hasn't quite mastered the "putting it back in" part. She also really wants to sit up so she strains her neck, like she's doing crunches but fails and gets really mad. So this seat works great for both of us! She can sit up without me holding her up so I have my hands free. She has been sitting in her seat helping me do dishes! On another note, we got a breadmaker because I am NO BAKER! It's really yummy...we've made cinnamon rolls, cheddar beer bread, and a loaf of white bread. So now with the bumbo and the breadmaker, the Huffys are living the highlife!Emma Grace rolled over on Saturday. When she did, we both cheered and it scared her and she started crying. Hope we didn't discourage her from trying it again!

WOW!!! What a treat!! Fixed papaw and me a cup of hot chocolate topped with whipped cream and Pampered Chef sweet cinnamon sprikles and pulled up the blog for an even sweeter treat of a new picture of Emma Grace!! Really enjoyed the pics last week of EG and those with mommy and daddy and your apartment area -- keep them coming, they are a real blessing for those of us on the other side of the world. Papaw and I are wanting to come visit next summer -- when would be the best time? Watch out for that homemade bread -- it can be addictive and has a tendency to make your jeans shrink!! We are getting ready to go down to NMB for a few days so papawJack and Jay can play golf. Then plan to be in Frost, WV next weekend for apple butter making. Will spend Friday evening peeling and slicing apples. Will cook it on Saturday in 50 gallon kettles over a wood fire. Last time we made it, we had a rain mixed with snow day. It was really cold and so windy that it was hard to keep the fire hot enough. Will have to figure out how to send you guys some fresh apple butter and some other treats. Send me instructions. EA and AR, if you like peanut butter cookies, try these -- they aren't made with flour -- cream 1 cup peanut butter, 1-1/2 cups white sugar, 1 egg and 1 tsp vanilla. Roll dough into walnut sized balls and make crisscross on them with fork dipped in sugar. Bake on a greased cookie sheet for 12 mins at 350 and let cool for a little while before yu take them off the cookie sheet and enjoy. Have said it before, but will repeat -- this blog is fantastic -- pull it up first thing in the AM and then again before i go to bed, just to see those smiling faces. i love it that Emma Grace is expressing herself---reminds me of someone else i know!
she looks so happy in her bumbo. has she turned over again? before you know it she will be everywhere!
we tried to call for several hours yesterday--so sad not to be able to see you all talking and LIVE IN PERSON! but we will try again this weekend. we love and miss you all!
